The latest cover story for the Isthmus features the increasing role young entrepreneurs are playing on the future of Madison’s economy. Millennials are the most educated generation in history (but also have the largest student loan debt in history) and are the most connected and tech-savvy.
Millennial entrepreneurs founded approximately 1/3 of the recently funded Madison area ventures. The StartingBlock project, the many downtown coworking spaces, and events such as the Forward Technology Festival all represent all the elements of increased Millennial entrepreneurism: visibility, density and recruitment/retention.
